A New Year’s resolution is a nice tradition. It feels like a code review, which you have been writing for the last year. Such a task can be daunting. But fear not. Just reflect on the most recent events a bit, and you’ll find yourself wondering back in time.
For me, 2023 was not an easy feat. Here is a non-ordered list of major events:
- Switched to Development from Operations. While I was spending a lot of time on automation and DevOps, my title was never “Developer”.
- Started my personal blog. And I chose self-hosting for that, yes. My Ops background will always be with me, probably.
- Lost most of the social, face-to-face time with friends. Moving between countries is not helping with that at all.
- Abandoned all sports activities. Was simply overwhelmed by other things.
2024 is anticipated to be an interesting one. I need to get back on track with my mental and physical wellbeing before it demands a medical treatment.
High-priority goals are:
- Maintain a good balance between work and personal life.
- Bring some sports habits back.
- Spend quality time with family.
- Keep a bit of time for myself.
Low-priority goals:
- Improve my Software Development skills.
- Start a meaningful open-source pet project.
- Work on English pronunciation.
- Resurrect French language learning.
There’s no time to waste, let’s do it ;)
